LOTTERY PREFERENCE
Though all NYC families are welcome to apply, priority status is given to students in District 2, English Language Learners (ELL), and siblings of current and former Great Oaks students.

Once you’ve completed your application, expect to hear from us! We send out newsletters to keep you informed of what is happening at GO – NYC, and about any upcoming deadlines!
APPLICATION TIMELINE
OCTOBER – APRIL
Great Oaks Charter School – New York City accepts enrollment applications via our SchoolMint application or the Common Online Charter School Application.
EARLY-APRIL
Student Lottery – The lottery will take place in early April 2024.
GO – NYC conducts its student lottery in early April. Families will receive application results via email notification and mailed letter. GO – NYC calls all newly accepted families directly to welcome them to our school community and sends a registration packet via mail. Students not automatically accepted by lottery are placed on our waitlist.
Orientations are held to welcome new families and to complete the enrollment of their child by filling out/bringing necessary paperwork. Students are not considered enrolled into our school until the necessary paperwork is in.
SPRING/SUMMER
Students on the waitlist are contacted if spots open up/remain available.
