A Welcome Letter from the Principal

Dear Parents & Students,

Welcome to all of our staff, students, stakeholders, and prospective GO-NYC Middle School families! I am extremely grateful to those of you who have decided to entrust our school with your most precious gift(s) and look forward to serving families who opt to join our GONYC family!

At GO-NYC, our goal is to cultivate student learning in a supportive environment to ensure that our students shape the world, not be defined by it. Our teachers and AmeriCorps Fellows work diligently to engage our students in rich, meaningful experiences designed to help students make real-world connections centered around diversity, equity, and inclusion, so they can navigate this ever-changing world. In addition to implementing high-quality, standards-based curriculum, we seek to develop students’ extracurricular interests by offering courses in Visual Arts, Dance, Music, Spanish, and Physical Education.

As Principal of GO-NYC Middle School, it is important to me that each and every individual who steps through our doors feels safe, valued, and happy to be here. We were among the first schools in the city to launch a stellar hybrid learning model to promote social distancing and meet the needs of our families. To promote the safety of our staff, students, and stakeholders, our school has adhered to the NYC Department of Health guidelines and implemented the highest of safety precautions to prevent the contraction and spread of COVID-19.

I’m a true believer that it takes a village to raise a child. I look forward to working alongside you to help each student at GO-NYC meet or exceed their goals. My door is always open and I welcome your input.

Yours in collaboration,

Ms. Timberly Wilson, M.S., Ed.S.
GO-NYC Middle School Principal
